Llandegai is a village in the Snowdonia area of North Wales. The railway serves the village and quarries which are further up the line. The line runs a mixture of narrow gauge stock with the company having recently bought in some ex war departmental stock. The actual place name comes from the Penrhyn Quarry Railway which ran from Bangor on the coast to the slate quarries in the mountains. The name translates from the Welsh meaning 'white bridge'. The real place was just a small halt with a wooden hut for the quarry workers at the local village
